1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using ScamChecker (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of service

ScamChecker provides AI-powered analysis of digital content (text messages, URLs, images, QR codes) to help users identify potential scams, phishing attempts, and fraudulent communications. The Service returns risk assessments and actionable guidance based on the submitted content.

3. Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@scamschecker.co if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Subscriptions and billing

ScamChecker offers a free tier (limited checks per day) and paid subscription plans (Individual and Family). Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe.

30-day money-back guarantee: If you are not satisfied with a paid plan, contact us within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund. After 30 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your Account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will not see price changes until their next renewal after the notice period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Submit content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, or that violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of others
• Automate or script requests to circumvent rate limits or quotas
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI models or analysis logic
• Use the Service to build competing products or services that rely on our analysis infrastructure
• Submit content for the purpose of testing or probing the AI for vulnerabilities without our written permission
• Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScamChecker and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or any financial loss resulting from your reliance on our analysis verdicts.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, brand, and content, is owned by ScamChecker and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

You retain all rights to the content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a temporary, limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the analysis you requested. This licence ends when the analysis is complete and the content is discarded.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion option in your Account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections governing limitation of liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email (if you have an account) and by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the relevant territory.
